Our new Deppa Bags from India will arrive the last week of March. Handmade by a woman's fair trade co-operative out of organic cotton using a block stamp custom design. Fairtrade as described by the International Fair Trade Association (IFA) is a change in the way trade is conducted based on “dialogue” between producers and retailers, “transparency”, a clear traceable path between payment of goods and receipt of those goods and “respect” for both the efforts and lifestyles of producers, as well as the retailers and consumers of those products.

At five ACCESSORIES, we strive to source all handbags and fair trade gift items from fair trade producers in developing area. For example, the pictured sling made out of recycled mosquito netting was produced in Cambodia by an organization that is certified by the Fair Trade Federation.
